上人開示:“佛陀走遍恆河兩岸、說法四十九年,要將宇宙真理與天下人分享。在宣講直指成佛之道的《法華經》後,向聽經的八萬四千眾發問,有誰願意承擔娑婆世界菩薩道弘法的重責大任?想到這段法華經文,我就好感恩。也許,我們當初一起聽過佛陀講經。也許,我們在靈鷲山已結了緣。而很多年過去了,仍然有這麼多人願意與我同心、同志、同行菩薩道……。”
延續2500年法華會上的因緣,集合四面八方來自馬來西亞分會全體上上下下慈濟人一起深入經藏,呈現“十方菩薩雲來集”,大家虔誠一念心服膺上人“傳承靜思法脈,弘揚慈濟宗門”,秉承佛陀胸懷,走遍恒河兩岸說法救度眾生,從生死河中至涅磐彼岸,故形成“恒河兩岸齊說法”。
娑婆世界如波濤洶湧的河流,每個人沉淪在內不能自拔,慈濟法船於娑婆世界的河流航行,人間菩薩乘著法船拉拔苦難眾生,以無量義法為苦難眾生以身示法、說法,希望人人在自己的人生道路上學習該如何自度、度人,從此岸到彼岸。
分別演說:——
唱經演說:恒河兩岸說法,一歷耳根永為八識田中的道種,時時刻刻提醒著自己把佛法落實在日常生活中。
手語演說:娑婆世界河流中,乘著法船以身示法的菩薩,手畫虛空傳真義;
默劇演說:人生如舞臺,凡夫百態齊現,個個都在上演自己所編選的角色,并在編導來生的生命劇本。
舞臺為60尺x60尺,佇立室內體育館中央,面向四方。舞臺上上演人生百態,苦難眾生沉淪在娑婆世界波濤洶湧的河流中不能自拔,慈濟法船運載著人間菩薩來來回回救拔苦難眾生。舞臺兩側分布唱經菩薩,如同恒河兩岸說法,為娑婆世界之河流,唱出宇宙真理,人間至情。
“An Assembly of Bodhisattvas from ten directions, addressing a discourse on the dharma across the two shores of Ganges River”
Buddha’s footsteps covered the two shores of the Ganges River, expounding on the dharma teachings for 49 years, in sharing the Universal Truth with all people. Buddha expounded the “Lotus Sutra” revealing that all living beings are able to attain Buddhahood, that is, supreme enlightenment. He then enquired from the assembly of eighty-four thousands audience who came to attend the dharma talk, if there is anyone willing to take up the vital responsibility to disseminate the dharma teachings in the saha world? Each time when Master Cheng Yen thought of this paragraph of “Lotus Sutra”, she is full of gratitude. As Master Cheng Yen expressed: “Perhaps we must have met each other during the Lotus Sutra Assembly. Perhaps we have established good affinity at the Vulture Peak. After so many years have past, yet there are still so many people who are willing to come with me to practice on this spiritual path together with common aspiration.”
In continuing with the affinity established during the Lotus Sutra Assembly some 2500 years ago, we have gathered all Tzu Chi volunteers of the Malaysia Chapter from all localities to penetrate the sutra, and impart to the audience “An assembly of Bodhisattvas from the ten directions”. With piousness and sincerity of mind, everyone honors Master Cheng Yen aspiration to “transmit Jing Si Dharma Lineage, disseminate Tzu Chi dharma path” with high regards; bearing with Buddha’s compassion, they travel all over the two shores of the Ganges River to spread the teachings in deliverance of the sentient beings from the river of birth and death across to the shore of Nirvana, thus forming into “an assembly of bodhisattvas addressing a discourse across the two shores of Ganges River”.
The Saha world resembles the river with rough and choppy waves, everyone were drifting in delusion helplessly, Tzu Chi dharma vessel set on sail navigating along the river of sufferings and delusion in the Saha World, the living bodhisattvas are on board the dharma vessel striving to pull up the suffering beings on board, they emulate the innumerable meanings of the teachings in their practical action, urging all people to learn in the path of life the way of self deliverance and deliverance of others from the shore of sufferings and delusions over to the shore of nirvana.
Different discourses on the dharma teachings:-
Discourse via sutra chanting: preaching across the two shores of the Ganges river, by hearing brings imprint of karmic seeds in the Alaya consciousness, thus constantly cautioning us to assimilate the dharma teachings in our daily practice
Discourse via sign language performance: On board the dharma vessel on the flowing river in the Saha World, the living bodhisattvas on board the dharma vessel are paragon of ethics and virtue, using sign language to spread the true teachings
Discourse via stage drama: Life is like a stage, the laymen appeared with varied life gestos. Each playing their individual role that they have authored in the past life, while at the same time, they are also composing the script of their next life.
The stage measuring 60 ft by 60ft, erected in the center of the indoor stadium, is facing all four directions. Varied life gestos are performed on stage, suffering sentient beings are drifting in dilemma in the rapid current in the Saha World helplessly. Tzu Chi’s dharma vessel ferrying the living bodhisattvas are coming to and fro in delivering the suffering sentient beings. On both sides of the stage are the bodhisattvas chanting the sutra, expounding the discourses along both shores of the Ganges River, singing praise of the universal truth and the warm affection of humanity on the river bank in the Saha world
